At the stroke of midnight on Friday 7th December the Sewing Room will host the launch of New Forms. A collective of artists pushing experimental Bass sub-genres, paired with curated visuals in a series of multi-sensory conceptual evenings. The launch party will coincide with the release of ‘The Perth Halftime Compilation’; featuring some artists performing on the night. The album will encompass the full spectrum of the exciting Halftime sub-genre of Drum & Bass featuring talented local producers. Perth has become the meeting place for many young artists who share a passion for this hybrid low slung, progressive bass music. The aesthetic for this event will be minimal focusing on cutting edge Electronic Music with projected visuals. This is an inclusive event, respect yourself and each other. Journey with Kohesia Ensemble and experience the evocative sounds of Persian music played in a unique jazz style. Led by double bassist Kate Pass, the Kohesia Ensemble serves as a platform for Kate’s original compositions, which are influenced by her passion for both jazz and Persian music. Kohesia Ensemble explores unusual time structures and microtonal melodies for a captivating listening experience. Kohesia Ensemble presents a night of original music that will transport you to another place. Having released their debut album “Kohesia” in June 2018, Kohesia Ensemble was nominated for 2018 WAM Best Album, Best Jazz Act and Best World Act. Kohesia Ensemble was also shortlisted for the Martin Sims Award at Fringe World Festival (2019). Chocolate & Wine Masterclass

The Margaret River Chocolate Company has matched its mouth-watering chocolates with wines from sister company Coward & Black Vineyards to create an amazing Chocolate & Wine masterclass experience.

Participants learn all about chocolate and wine and get to taste a range of single origin chocolates as well as pairing chocolates to a variety of red, white, sparkling and dessert wines. The classes also include tastings of three Sambarino chocolate liqueurs, along with a free bottle to take home. They run at the funky new bar in the city, The Sewing Room.
